DRINKING GAMES ON THE COURSE!
Golf Drinking Games That’ll Keep You Swinging
Golf has always been the gentleman’s game… but let’s be honest, sometimes it’s more fun when it’s the gentleman-who’s-had-a-few-beers game. If you’re looking to spice up your next round, why not mix in a few drinking games? Just remember: play responsibly, hydrate (with water too), and maybe leave the serious scorekeeping for another day.
Here are some tried-and-true golf drinking games that keep spirits high, even when your ball is buried in the rough.
1. The Mulligan Chug
Everyone gets one mulligan per round. Use it? Fine! but it costs you a chug. Suddenly, that “free shot” feels a lot less free when you’re three beers deep by the 4th hole.
2. The Sand Trap Sip
Find yourself in a bunker? Take a sip. Blast it out in one go? Everyone else drinks. Chunk it twice? Well… bottoms up, mate.
3. Fairway or Fail-way
Miss the fairway off the tee? That’s a drink. Nail the fairway? Point at a mate and they drink instead.
4. The Three-Putt Punishment
Three-putting is already soul-crushing. Now it comes with a penalty, finish your cup. Trust me, you’ll be putting like Tiger after two rounds of this game… or at least thinking you are.
5. Birdie Cheers
Score a birdie? Everyone else raises a toast to you. Score an eagle? Someone better get the cart girl, because that’s worth a full round for the group.
6. Hole in None
If you whiff completely, it’s an automatic shot. No excuses. Yes, even if the tee was “too high” or the wind “caught you.”
Final Round: Drink, Laugh, Play On
Golf is already a game of patience, skill, and just the right amount of swearing. Add in a few fun drinking rules, and it becomes less about the perfect scorecard and more about the perfect day out with mates.
Just remember, don’t go full Happy Gilmore after too many stubbies, and definitely don’t drink and drive the cart like it’s Bathurst. Play smart, laugh loud, and let the good times roll.
Cheers to bad swings, good mates, and brutal balls.
Hero Golf was started for everyday golfers who love the game but reckon it doesn’t need to be so uptight. Whether you’re striping it down the middle or losing another one in the trees, we’re here for the laughs, the banter, and the good times on and off the course.
